Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Navigation, Targeting and Systems Division seeks an innovative and self-motivated candidate to join our Strategy and Mission Solutions (SMS) team as **Business Development Operations and Capture Excellence Director** (D1). This role is located in Rolling Meadows, IL and reports directly to the Senior Director of Strategy and Mission Solutions in NTSD.
The candidate will provide leadership to the Strategy & Mission Solutions (SMS) function across a breadth of efforts. This role is uniquely positioned to have insight into all aspects of our growth business to include strategy, business development, business operating rhythms, sector and corporate reporting, and strategic growth opportunities.
SMS is a high tempo organization. This role manages a myriad of deliverables through the executive review process, including strategic captures and business development reviews. This role, through exchange and guidance, assures that all SMS products and deliverables are managed to meet quality and division/sector timelines and objectives.
As the Business Development Director of Operation and Capture for SMS, the candidate will need to collaborate extensively in a matrixed organization across a variety of business functions. This position interfaces with Sector and Division leadership regularly and manages a team of operations analysts and proposal managers across multiple facilities.
**_The SMS director of capture and operations will:_**
+ Perform operational planning and support of the SMS organization:
+ Schedule, assign, and track division tasks and deliverables across a plethora of topics including sector, division, and internal requests and reports regarding domestic and international growth opportunities; Coordinate SMS activities across other division functions, particularly communications, business management, and division-level operations.
+ Create and manage the department budget to ensure priorities are properly funded and tracked; manage consultant SOWs and monthly invoices.
+ Coordinate SMS customer engagement and trade show planning.
+ Support the SMS utilization of tools to increase organization efficiency and effectiveness. Tools include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Teams, SharePoint, and Tableau. Develop project metrics to benchmark effectiveness.
+ Plan, track, and report on team training regarding growth and capture skills.
+ Manage the Proposal Win Center Teams and Salesforce administrators:
+ Manage a team of proposal Win Center professionals/proposal analysts across three facilities to assure consistent practices in proposal support, tools, and guidance; identify and manage proposal best practice development and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Optimize the use of Salesforce in the division, support customized reports and dashboard requests, maintain Salesforce accounts, and support Salesforce growth and adoption in the division.
+ Provide Division Capture Excellence:
+ Ensure division team alignment with Enterprise drive for Business Development Excellence.
+ Execute continuous improvement of division capture, and provide lessons learned analysis.
**_Basic Qualifications:_**
+ Bachelor's degree and 12 or more years of experience in Aerospace & Defense industry; OR Master's degree and 10 or more years of experience in Aerospace & Defense industry
+ Demonstrated understanding of the DoD acquisition and new business capture process.
+ Demonstrated experience in people management, change leadership, and continuous improvement.
+ Previous BD or capture experience (capture manager, BD manager, volume lead, etc.) using the Shipley or related process for competitive captures in the defense market.
+ Experience across one or more of the following: project management, business development, operations management, business management, engineering, and/or integration.
+ Excellent communication and writing skills.
+ Ability to generate executive-ready content using Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management tools (eg: Salesforce).
+ Active DoD Secret security clearance
+ US citizen required.
**_Preferred Qualifications:_**
+ Master’s Degree.
+ 15 years of experience with the DOD and National Security acquisition processes (traditional Far/DFAR and Mid-Tier/OTA) including supporting processes such as requirements development and budgeting.
+ Demonstrated understanding of the DoD budget programming process and the congressional authorization process.
+ Demonstrated understanding of the technology export process for State Department and Commerce Department, including familiarity with international licensing and marketing authorization and tracking requirements.
+ Experience with Sales Force, Share Point, and Tableau.
+ Technical fluency in full-spectrum electronic warfare solutions and capabilities.
+ Familiarity with Northrop Grumman processes and procedures.
+ Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SAP.
Salary Range: $207,400.00 - $311,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
