We are looking for you to join our team as an **Engineering Department Manager** located in **Chantilly, Virginia** . This is a dual role encompassing both people leadership and technical performance.
**What You’ll Get to Do:**
In this role you will be at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge hardware and software solutions that meet our customers' mission requirements and delivery timelines, directly impacting the front lines of SIGINT data processing and Cyber operations. Our commitment to Program Execution and Engineering Excellence drives everything we do.
You will lead a dynamic and high-performing team of more than 100 individual contributors and technical managers. This team plays a crucial role executing programs within the Networked Information Solution division's Strategic Intelligence & Data Exploitation operating unit and supporting emerging capabilities across the Mission Systems sector.
The successful candidate will lead this organization to achieve outstanding program results, will be an effective communicator and problem solver, and will be adept at building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for a balanced skill set that includes interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. You should have demonstrated experience leading technical teams throughout the full lifecycle of capability development, along with prior people management experience.
You will own a variety of responsibilities that are essential to the success of our organization including strategic planning, technical execution, and workforce management, ensuring that our team is not only effective but also thriving. This role is split approximately 50% direct work on programs and 50% for functional management and organization leadership. As a leader, you will embody both technical expertise and functional management proficiency.

**You'll Bring These Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field and at least 9 years of related systems engineering experience
+ U.S. Citizen with active Secret clearance and ability to obtain additional clearances and accesses within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
+ 3 years in a formal management position
+ 3 years managing cost and schedule responsibilities
+ Experience leading organizations to accomplish strategic goals
+ Systems Engineering experience on complex DoD programs
+ Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
**These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:**
+ Master's degree or PhD in a technical field
+ Active Top Secret clearance, active or prior SCI, polygraph
+ Experience in manager-of-manager role
+ Experience as a cost account manager or similar
+ Cross-discipline & Cross-lifecycle engineering experience
+ Significant work experience gained outside of the Engineering functional homeroom
+ Experience coordinating aspects of program execution including planning, baselining, and implementation across multiple teams

Salary Range: $187,000.00 - $280,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
