We are looking for Principal Project Engineer to manage large programs in Connectivity Enablers (CXE) COE, Bangalore. This job requires the individual to work closely with project teams and global stakeholders and manage the overall program cost, schedule, technical risks and dependencies. In addition, he/she needs to lead the program to meet design goals, define prioritization of work packages, and drive overall program performance

+ As a Principal project engineer, you will be responsible for all the aspects of NPI product development and program execution under Connectivity Enablers product portfolio, cutting across planning & estimation, end to end development, integration, product cyber security, qualification and certification; monitoring and tracking the program execution, deploying necessary MOS and devising improvements on program execution.

+ Will be working with CAMs and functional leaders across multidisciplinary teams within and across COEs for planning and tracking various aspects of the project (budget, milestones, quality, staffing etc).

+ Accountable for QE process, works with technical teams to guide them on technical risks, opportunities and assumptions and arrive at efficient estimates.

+ This role will provide single point of accountability for assigned engineering scope on the program and be accountable to Engineering leadership and Program Management for execution of all engineering work, and for working within the established program hierarchy when making key decisions.

+ Understand business objectives and more importantly the ability to interact with customers.

+ Ensures departmental core competencies and continuous PE skill development.

+ Implement strong Management Operating System (MOS) in Project life cycle execution, stage gate reviews, Certification and Process compliances viz., CMMi, AS9110 audits, Compliance reviews and expectations.

+ Actively participate and drive COE SDP A3 initiatives including program adoption to drive superior results in Quality, productivity, competency development and NPI revenue growth

+ Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed including the escalation of issues as necessary based on project work plans.

+ Addresses barriers and bring down recurring and non-recurring costs in engineering by streamlining the workflow to maximize efficiencies in deliverables.

+ Provide the direction and motivation to engineering teams to ensure maximum performance,

+ Brings capability to drive Critical Thinking and Do Different Strategies

+ Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.

+ Influencing others to accept new practices and approaches.

+ Business acumen of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application within the industry.

+ Significant experience in embedded product development specifically in aerospace, life cycle activities including hardware, software, qualification, certification, working with suppliers on hardware build and manufacturing aspects.

+ Demonstrates expertise in a variety of program management practices and procedures.

+ A change agent and a practitioner of organizational initiatives, steering execution excellence initiatives.

+ BE/B.Tech with 15+ Yrs of experience in aerospace industry in building and certifying products related to CNS.

+ Atleast 5 yrs of PE experience.

+ PE-PM Academy graduate.

+ Experience leading multi-functional engineering teams within a global matrix organization. Self-initiative to reach out to team and form effective working relationships.

+ Experience with preparation and execution of project plans, schedules, cost estimates, baseline change management, risk mitigation, technical design reviews, management reviews, customer coordination meetings, cost/schedule/status reporting. Implementing corrective actions as necessary to achieve commitments.

+ Ability to represent Honeywell to external customers; including airline, business jet operators, certification authorities, industry representatives

+ Ability to grasp technical concepts rapidly. History of understanding avionics life cycle: requirements, development, test, flight test, certification. Experience in each element of the lifecycle is required.

+ Should have excellent communication skills, able to understand the project risks well ahead, take necessary actions.

+ Experience supporting technical proposals preparation and estimating process.

+ Good leadership Skill to drive team with global mind set

+ Must have good communication skills to manage and work with various stakeholders across locations. Accountable to create a robust MOS and Communication plan.

+ Ability to present business case and justification for team growth and source of funds

+ Passion to explore opportunities and solutions
